Clementine Mandarin is a popular, high-quality small mandarin hybrid cherished globally for its honey-sweet flavor, bright orange skin, and easy-peeling texture. Often sold under brand names like "Cuties" or "Halos," it is a staple of home orchards and commercial citrus production throughout mild, warm-winter regions.
The Clementine Mandarin forms an attractive, dense evergreen tree reaching 10 to 12 feet tall in the ground, or 4 to 6 feet when grown in patio containers or dwarf rootstocks. The tree produces tender, juicy fruit segments with a rich, candy-like sweetness and very low acidity, making it an absolute favorite for fresh snacking. The main feature of the mandarins is that its smooth, deep-orange rind peels away effortlessly in one piece. When grown in isolation away from other pollinating citrus trees, the fruit is completely seedless. The tree is known to be self-fruitful and heavy producers, yielding 75 to 150+ pounds of fruit annually at maturity.

PLANT CARE & CHARACTERISTICS
Light Requirements: Full Sun (Requires 6–8+ hours of direct sunlight daily for high fruit sugar production).
Water Requirements: Moderate; deep watering when the top 2–3 inches of soil dry out; avoid waterlogged roots.
Drought Resistance: Moderate once fully established.
Soil Type: Well-draining sandy loam or rich loamy soil mix; highly sensitive to poorly drained clay; pH 6.0–7.0.
Deer Resistance: High (Aromatic citrus foliage is generally avoided by deer).
