Azomite Granular

Size

AZOMITE® is a natural product mined from an ancient mineral deposit in Utah (USA) that typically contains a broad spectrum of over 70 minerals and trace elements, distinct from any mineral deposit in the world. AZOMITE® is used internationally as a feed additive and a soil re-mineralizer for plants, and is available in over sixty countries throughout the world. AZOMITE® trace minerals have been reported to improve root systems, yields and general plant vigor in a variety of field crops and garden vegetables.

Azomite is a finely ground, natural trace mineral powder made from montmorillonite clay mined from an ancient sea bed.   Available for a variety of applications, AZOMITE® can be used to remineralize nutrient-depleted soils and is OMRI Listed for certified organic production.

Azomite will not harm or burn plants.  Apply directly or with compost, manures, humus, fertilizers, beneficial soil microbial.   May be used in compost tea productions.

Geologists classify AZOMITE as “Hydrated Sodium Calcium Alumino-Silicates” (HSCAS)

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

AZOMITE® is a 100% NATURAL, ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE fertilizer and soil amendment that can be used on all crops, in all soils, to boost plant growth, yield and quality. It will not harm or burn plants due to its low salt index. Its granular form is low in dust and releases slowly over several days in the soil. The pelleted form breaks down immediately with rain or irrigation.   AZOMITE® micronized powder can be mixed with potting soil, compost, or spread by hand in the garden. Apply all products directly to the soil surface, mix lightly into the soil, and/or water-in after application. AZOMITE® may also be blended with potting soils, compost, humus, manures, fertilizers, and/or beneficial soil microbe products and used in compost tea productions.

Field Crops - Begin with a broadcast rate of 150lbs/acre, 100 lbs/acre acre banded, and 50 lbs/acre for row application and may be adjusted up or down based on a complete soil sample. Use up to 300 lbs/ acre for high value crops. Follow this with annual maintenance rates of 150 lbs. per acre or according to soil improvements. Soil and tissue testing is recommended to verify proper rates.

Vegetables - Use rates are generally 150 lbs/acre broadcast, 100 lbs/acre acre banded, 50 lbs/acre for row or trickle irrigation application. One 1⁄2 lb per 100 sq ft or 1⁄2 lb per 200 feet of linear row in a 6” wide band, or less. Soil and tissue testing should be used to help verify proper rates.

Viticulture - For grapes in a small vineyard apply 1⁄2 lb. to 1 lb. to the soil around each plant and lightly till or water/irrigate into soil. For large vineyards rates are generally 150 lbs/acre broadcast, 100 lbs/acre acre banded, 50 lbs/acre for row or trickle irrigation application. Soil and tissue testing is recommended to verify rates.

Small Fruits - Use rates are generally 150 lbs/acre broadcast, 100 lbs/acre banded, 50 lbs/acre for row or trickle irrigation application. Soil and tissue testing should be used to help verify proper rates.

House Plants and Flowers - Mix 1/2 teaspoon per inch of pot diameter with potting soil before planting. Apply 1 teaspoon every three months to the soil surface and water-in thereafter. For roses, apply 1/2 lb. to 1 lb. to the soil around each plant and lightly till or water/irrigate into soil.

Nursery Stock - For home ornamental and shrubs, apply 1⁄2 lb. to 1 lb. to the soil around each plant and lightly till or water/irrigate into soil. For commercial nursery operations rates are generally 150 lbs/acre broadcast, 100 lbs/acre banded, 50 lbs/acre for row or trickle irrigation application. Soil and tissue testing should be used to help verify proper rates.

Greenhouse - Use AZOMITE in the potting soil at a rate of 7 lbs/cu yd, and add it to the irrigation water when possible, on a weekly basis, at a low rate.

Potting Soil Mix 7 lbs of AZOMITE per cubic yard of potting soil.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Turf and Lawn Care
For existing home lawns, apply 3 lb / 1,000 sq ft. Apply once a year for normal lawns, or in the spring and fall for optimal results. For new lawns, apply at 5 lb / 1,000 sq ft and till or water/irrigate into soil before planting seed or laying sod. For professional turfgrass, apply 2 lbs/1,000 sq ft twice per year in the early spring and fall which should be broadcast prior to a rain or watered-in. This rate can be split and applied up to 4 times per year.

Orchards > Citrus > Nut Trees > Tree Fruits - For small or home orchards apply annually to trees on ground surface under the drip line at the rate of 1 to 5 pounds/tree, depending on the tree size. Double the application for decline or blight stricken trees. For commercial orchards rates are generally 150 lbs/acre broadcast, 100 lbs/acre banded, 50 lbs/acre for row or trickle irrigation application. Soil and tissue testing should be used to help verify proper rates. Double the broadcast rate for new orchard plantings.

Arboriculture - Apply annually to all trees on ground surface under the drip line. Apply a light coating from the trunk out to the drip line. Recommended application rate for trees:

Tree Base Diameter Rate
< 10” 1 – 5 lbs.
10” – 20” 5 – 15 lbs.
> 20” 15 – 40 lbs.
